Biographical Sketch: Nurel Beylerian

Initially educated as a Civil/Structural Engineer, over the past 35 years Dr. Beylerian has been intimately involved in the rapid transformation of businesses from old manual systems into the current age of information-based systems.

He has taught engineering subjects at several Universities.  A forward-looking engineering curriculum he designed in the mid-60's has been the backbone of post-graduate education in civil engineering education at the University of Puerto Rico. He received his Ph. D. in Structural Engineering from Michigan State University, where he also taught several undergraduate subjects. 

Working for a major computer hardware manufacturer, Control Data Corporation, Dr. Beylerian has been involved in all aspects of this most exciting new technology of the twentieth century.  For a number of years, he was responsible for the training of corporate personnel as well as a large user community.  Over the years, he has designed and conducted a wide variety of technical and managerial training programs.  Early in his career, using direct mail marketing as the main vehicle of marketing, he introduced "public" technical training programs into international markets, helping raise the awareness level of the public in information oriented technologies.  

As a marketing consultant, Dr. Beylerian assists clients analyze market opportunities, then designs and conducts marketing campaigns.  He lectures and consults on business-enhancement subjects such as the creation of Requests for Proposals, Proposals, Statements of Work, etc.  He has personally authored the textbooks used in the courses he teaches, which include  many new and original concepts based on his many years of field experience as a buyer of goods and services and as a department manager responsible for business development. 

Always an innovator, recently Dr. Beylerian has created a number of new marketing courses, including How to Create a Request for Proposal (RFP), How to Prepare a Statement of Work (SOW),Working with Vendors for the Successful Outcome of a Project, Preparing Procurement Documents for IT Projects,  FAX Marketing Strategies. Other courses which have been recently updated include Proposal Writing and Preparation Workshop and Direct Mail Marketing Strategies.
